Sometimes our kids can surprise us, as my sons did while we were camping down on Dale Hollow Lake . I was at our campsite when they came to tell me to check out this sunset. This picture is the sunset. Definetly a Kodak moment. Sunsets and gardens, and even our children at times, can give us a feeling of peace and accomplishment. Welcome to my page of peace and accomplishments. |
We moved into this house in March of 2001, and the yard started crying out to me for help. The Clematis was growing up wires strung between the ground and the eaves of the house. Ugly bushes and overgrowth was everywhere......... |
My husband Rick bought me my first dragonfly, the trellis you see the Clematis growing on now. I don't think he realized just what he was starting. I put in the cedar edging, and the "ugly bush" was pulled ( iburofen is a good thing!), and flowers were added, along with a Lemon Princess Spirea. The finishing touch were solar powered walkway lights. |
This is the walkway to the front door. New siding was put on the house, so instead of putting up hooks in the eaves for my hanging baskets, I decided to use shepherd's hooks for them. More flowers were added, along with another dragonfly. |
On around the corner you come to my shade garden. This is a work in progress picture, as you see the old siding on the house. Have I mentioned my best friend, Debbie? Her gardens have been my inspiration. She has a shade garden and after seeing it, we went shopping. I put in 2 Japanese Painted Ferns, a Jacob's Ladder, and a Bleeding Heart, along with a Lily of the Valley that Debbie gave me. The plans for this corner also include a water element and more shade plants in the spring. |
